PADI Dive Courses | Cairns
To get you started in your new sport, you first need to have your PADI Open Water Certification; this license allows you to dive up to 18 metres underwater! Your first 2 days of an open water license are spent in the pool and completing theory in one of the dive schools classrooms and pools.
There after you can head out on the Great Barrier Reef! A budget dive course consists of day trips to the reef and all live-aboard diving licenses include accommodation and meals for the time on your reefs. Gilligan’s Travels highly recommends choosing a Live-aboard course as the best dives of the day are the earliest morning dives, which are only possible from a live-aboard boat, and there is simply nothing better than to wake up to the spectacular sight of the Great Barrier Reef. The next step of perusing your diving adventure is to book an advanced course (or book them together to save money) which allows you go to 30 metres, this is a must if you want to go diving on ship wrecks which are often in deep water.
Rescue and Dive Master Licenses are set aside for those serious divers or those who want a career in the diving industry. Night diving is available on all 5 day Open Water, Advanced, Rescue and Dive Master Courses. The Gilligan’s Travels team are all experienced divers! Should your course not be listed or have any questions, please feel free to send us an inquiry.
